brad butterworth is a dick

It's 230am but who can sleep after that shit? For the America's Cup to be won by a 2 second margin is not right. I can't believe we get all that luck & then we can't speed up quick enough after the penalty. And it sucks that you have to say 'oh well, we'll win it in another 4 years or so.' We are the better team and Switzerland should not be allowed to participate considering they don't have a sea.

Also brad butterworth should be banned from entering NZ. Unless he wants to get arrested for treason. I know alot of people think it's a professional sport and if he wants to sail for them, he can. But he is not going from Arsenal to Man U, he's going from NZ to Switzerland.
Conspiracy to commit treason is punishable by a maximum of 14 years in prison. Since he is only helping Alinghi, he sadly cannot be put away for life.

Maybe this picture will cheer everyone up:

This could be the future sign in auckland airport, which will state 'no butter,' 'no swiss sailors,' and 'no sailors named brad.'

This is the gym brad butterworth was seen attending.
NOTE: Even if we won, brad butterworth would still be a dick, so this is not an entry venting my anger for losing. Instead, this entry would've made fun of him (as well as accuse him of treason).

And good on Dean Barker, Grant Dalton and the whole TNZ crew. You made NZ proud. You guys are true patriots.

Firstly, well done to TNZ. You made us all proud. A superb effort considering what a mess we were 4 years ago.

Undoubtedly, it was a fantastic team effort. We are the best team in the America's Cup. But I think there are two people who need to be singled out for praise.

1. Grant Dalton -> LEGEND. Largerly responsible for the direction and leadership we have seen during this campaign. He also brought a ruthless cutting edge to our team, sadly, we couldn't quite "seal the deal". Well done sir. NZ salutes you.

2. Dean Barker -> You know those "Loyal" (made in China) shirts that we all wore last time. Well, I suggest a modication. Lets put the face of Dean Barker on it. He stood by this team during THICK and THIN. In the era of professional sport where loyalty itself is such a rare commodity, Dean epitimises what NZ sport is about. Dogged, determined and LOYAL to the end. Yes, NZ salutes you Sir.

And I would like to confirm that Brad Hogg has no been de-throned as NZ's most hated "Brad".

I don't have a problem with BB going to Alinghi, yes it is professional sport. And netoru, it is a lot like going from Arsenal to Man U. He went from TNZ to Alinghi.

BUT!!!!! Its the afters and the smirk that I have a problem with. After the beat us here in 2003, a journo asked BB what the difference between Alinghi and TNZ was...He smirked and said "5-0"...Brad, you can take your 5-0 and shove it you know where...

I know we didn't win, I know the histroy books will say that we have lost 10 of the last 12 races to Alinghi, but my did we prove a point to them. Money will buy you a lot of things. The best boat. The best sailors. The best sails. The best tactician. But money will not buy you a team that plays for each other...

Thank you TNZ...

i think brad butterworth is a total muppet. i hope we never allow him to come back to nz. so annoyed last night. after race comments by him made my blood boil. i could never go and compete for another country just for a little more money. doesnt compute in my head doing that. i hope dean barker stays and we keep most of this team. we'll do it next time, and we wont beat em by 2 sec, it'l be 5-0 by 1 min everytime.
argh! so angry and frustrated just thinkin about alinghi and butterworth.
hope a whale tackles him. i think alinghi's boat was much quicker than ours, but his fat body which was holding his massive head slowed them down.

Anonymous is livid...Emotions run deep in NZ when it comes to on of ours turning against us...

We will show them in 2 years time...

You should have a problem with brad butterworth going to alinghi. It's not like Henry going to Man Utd, it's like Rooney going to play for Portugal. Or Shane Bond going to play for England. How would you feel if that happened.

Damn straight Adam! You win the award for comment of the week.

America's Cup is a lot like F1 now...I dont have an issue with nationalities...but I don't like his attitude...

Oliverb said...

it has everything to do with nationalities! Why would Dean Barker stay with us when he could switch teams and get tons more money? It's true most of the teams have kiwis in and not many of their own nationality, but they are supporting that country's cause.

Keep this one quiet ok...If its about nationalities of the teams, then we should have been supporting Oracle, they are 76% Kiwi, we are a mere 72% Kiwi...:-)

I don't like his attitude...

nope, you misunderstood me. New Zealanders should all be trying to get on tnz. If they don't, too bad. They should start their own NZ yacht team instead of going overseas..
None of those Kiwi Oracle team members are loyal to us.

I think the only loyalty professional athletes have is too money and their chances of success...

Not blaming them, but loyalty and national pride a quickly becoming a rare commodity...

I agree with you, Kiwis shold always try to sail for TNZ, but given how much more money other teams have compared to us, that isn't always going to happen...and we can only have certain number of people on our team...

This is a massive debate...And it's important to argue both sides...Let me make it very clear, I hate Brad...not because he sails for Alinghi, but coz of his attitude...and his "I know I am the man" persona...

Now, would most NZs have the same problem with Rus and Brad, if Alinghi lost 5-0 in 2003 and their boat sank this time? I don't think so...NZs also hate them coz they are very very good sailors and they don't sail for us...

And like I have said, a lot of Kiwi sailors don't sail for TNZ (Chris Dixon), but we don't have aa big an issue with them...

BUT I DON'T LIKE THEIR ATTITUDE!!!!

I had a feeling netoru was going to start up a good argument here...Would like to know what Adam thinks about some of the more recent points in this debate...
